Posted by on Jul 31, 2020 in Community News | 0 comments

Peace and 4 friends who went to Palestine with the Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls ten years ago are doing the Big Solidarity Bike Ride for Palestine (44 miles, OMG!) this Saturday.

The Big Bike Ride is a national event, fundraising for the Middle East Children’s Alliance, a charity that promotes sports for girls. They are hoping to build a secure playground in Gaza.

Stars promoted to div. 7

Posted by on Jun 3, 2020 in Team News | 0 comments

The Stars are bloody thrilled to have come second at the end of the season and will be promoted into Div 7. They didn’t believe it was possible at the start of the season after being promoted into Div 8, but after a rocky start and multiple tequila shots, they got their balls together, and smashed their way through the league.

The final table has 72 points for the Stars, beaten by long running frenemies Newbridge on 84, with third place Frampton trailing behind on 64. The team would like to thank their captain Jen, and vice captain Cat, who managed to keep everyone focused on the prize!

The team said they can’t wait to get back to training and take on Div 7 when they’re allowed to touch each other’s balls again.

STOP KILLING BLACK PEOPLE!

The Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls grieve and stand with the friends and family of George Floyd and all victims of police brutality in the US, here in the UK and worldwide. They can’t keep getting away with this. Enough is enough.

BLACK LIVES MATTER.

This has been a watershed moment for many of us. We are realising that we have been doing too little, too late. As a club, we will be looking at ways we can be increasingly effective allies to BAME people, who face systemic racism, descrimination and the fear of violence every day.

As a start, here are some ways we can all help (feel free to comment and suggest more, this is a work in progress):
