The Saturday Cricket Team beat Midsomer Norton by 66 runs, Ev reports thus:

The Webgimp became the first cowboy to score a hundred since 2004 and only the seventh since time began, with a superb knock of 101 at Frenchay against Midsomer Norton. Grover’s maiden century included 1 magnificent 6 and an ambulance was on standby through the 80’s and 90’s as he turned various strange colours. Ben Preece made 57 (and a frittata), SteveO 30, and Simon Strange an express 25 in our total of 272 for 3. Midsomer Norton could only make 206 for 9 in their 40 overs with Roger taking 3 wickets. The Saturday team are now joint top of the division.

Man of the match – Richie Grove

Cider moment – Gretch nearly removing Rob T’s kidney with the ball, attempting a run out.

The Sunday 2nd Cricket Team lost to Portway by 8 wickets.

On a day with people pulling out due to illness and with the injury list growing DC2 arrived late and severely under the weather. In fact several of the team arrived late because in all the confusion nobody knew where the ground was. The Cowboys batted first and were alll out for 113 in 39.5 overs, which was something of a recovery considering that they were on 25 for 5 at 16 overs. Ben C top scored with 18 and DC2 and Brian but on 19 for the last wicket with a combined age of 120 years.

BFB knocked them off in 16.5 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Man of the match was Hidaya who bowled one of Portway’s openers with the first ball of the innings, he continued to bowl magnificently finishing with 8 overs, 1 maiden, 23 for 1.

Cider moment was the “DC2 No Smoking incident”
