More About The EGM

A message from Jess, the Club Chair:

I’d like to clear up some confusion about the purpose of the EGM to be held on Tuesday 16th June. I do not think it will be useful to go over what happened at the awards ceremony. Feelings are obviously running high and it may be impossible to achieve anything constructive by going over the events of the evening. However the fact that a number of people witnessed members of the club behaving in a sexist and homophobic manner suggests that there is an issue regarding prejudice which needs to be dealt with.

The purpose of the EGM will be to discuss the club’s values and how we plan to promote these throughout the entire club, so that members are aware what constitutes acceptable and unnaceptable behaviour. It may also be useful to discuss how the club challenges prejudice when it arises.
