Bank Holiday Weekend

Friday 3rd May

We have received an invite to the unveiling of the Thomas Clarkson plaque on the Seven Stars pub. If you bought a raffle tickets, made a donation or attended a Who’s Afear’d or Paul McCoch gig at the Seven Stars you have helped make this new happen. The official unveiling is at 12:30pm and there is a ‘wet the plaque’s head’ do in the evening with music and poetry; both events are at the Seven Stars of course. See www.brh.org.uk for more details.

Saturday 2nd May

The last Downs League matches of the season. If the Saturday B Team beat Beachcroft LLP Res they will be division 3 champions. Please came and cheer on our brave boys. Kick off 2:30pm. Oh, the A Team have a game with not a lot riding on the outcome.

The Cricket 3rd (Saturday) Team have their first match of the season away to Avonside.

The Netball team may have their last match of the season but I am not sure. The league website is the worst website in the while of Christendom, and even further than that some people are saying, and they never write or call to say what is going on. Ok so Ru told me in the pub late on Saturday but I can’t remember what she said.

Sunday 3rd May

The Sunday Team play in the the Sid Rumins Cup Final against Hanham FC. 3pm kick off at Manor Farm FC (on the Portway). This is a big deal so please come along and support our brave Sunday boys.

The Cricket 1st Team play their first match of the season against Bath Exiles away.

The Cricket 2nd Team play their second match of the season away to Winford. They got mugged by a 17 year old prodigy in their first match, can they do any better this weekend?

There may be a kick-about between the Geoffrey Oi!Cotts, 1-in-12 and some Cowboys. Ask Punky for details.

Geoffrey Oi!Cott, Spiteful Way and Valdez are playing a gig in aid of the Brasilian street kids’ football project and Bristol Antifa. The Plough from 8pm, suggested donation 4 of your English pounds. This should be a great night and what better way to hopefully celebrate cup glory.

It is Ru’s birthday.

The Casuals semi-final of the Harry Mottram Cup against Easton Monday has been postponed.

Monday 3rd May

Geoffrey Oi!Cotts, 1-in-12 and the Cowboys will be having a Cricket match at Frenchay Cricket Club. Come along and enjoy some hair of the dog and a little cricket.

The Nige Walker Memorial 7-a-side football tournament in Shipham has been postponed because there is so much happening this weekend already. So why not come along and enjoy a game of cricket instead.
