NEW TEAM – NEW PLAYERS WANTED!

The Easton Cowfolk Cricket Club was formed in 2022 to reastablish a cricket team to represent the wider club. After having had a year of net sessions and a few friendlies, we have now entered The North Somerset Cricket League for the 2023 season. The League is a Sunday league of 40 over games that takes place from May through to September. The home pitch will be at the Rose Green centre in Whitehall. Cricket nets during the season will also be at Rose Green.

We are looking for players to join whether it be just for nets, a few games or the whole season. The League is an adult league for over 14’s, however we are happy for under 14’s to attend nets with appropriate adult supervision. Membership is open to all under the Easton Cowfolk Clubs principals of anti- racist, anti-sexist, anti-fascist, anti-homophobic and anti-transphobic. We respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.

Absolute beginners welcome!

Sunday the 8th of September at The Rose Green Center on Gordon Road. The Cricketers Sunday League Team take on The Blagdon Blades in the last game of the season, a win will guarantee promotion to the dizzy heights of division one and possibly the League Title ( depending on the difference in net run rate between Us and the Old E). You have my word it will be a day to remember. The game starts at 1.30 pm and the bar will be open all day and evening. It would be great to use our home advantage by having as many supporters as possible to cheer...

04/08/2013 One of the weekends matches escaped the rain this weekend: the Saturday 2s beat Bath Exiles by 2 wickets. Exiles hit 158 with Barny getting 2 for 26. In reply the Cowboys got the runs for the loss of 8 wickets with 3.2 overs spare. Ubberpops scored 47 not out and Gandpa Kelly scored 28. Scorecard DC1 reports thus: The Exiles first innings score of 158 for 6 down, amassed in 3 or 4 sessions between heavy showers, was a bit higher a total than skipper Jeff would have been happy with – and when the Cowboys reply faltered badly at 5...

Dodging The Rain

Posted by on Jul 29, 2013 in Results/Reports | 0 comments

Both Saturday games got to about 20 overs and then were rained off. The Sundays managed to dodge the showers and beat Peasdown St John b y 101 runs. Dunc reports it thus: Hey Pop Pickers! It was a slightly less glorious weather day in paradise, as the Cowboys Team Sunday (CTS) swaggered into Rose Green to defend a winning run which had put them into a creditable 3rd place in Div 2. Continuing that winning run against Peasedown St John (PSJ), the current incumbents of 2nd position, would make the Cowboys look very much like the main...
