Jumpers for Goalposts Cowgirls donation
The owners of Twisted Oak Brewery have selected the Easton Cowgirls to receive a share of their profits as a donation to grassroots women’s football.
Co-owner Simon said: ‘When the Qatar World Cup came round we wanted to brew up a new beer with a football related name (like everyone else does). However, we weren’t too keen on marketing ourselves on the back of what was quite a controversial tournament. We just love football. So we came up with the idea of using the beer to raise some cash and then donating the money raised to a grass roots football team. So the beer Jumpers For Goalposts – a gorgeous 4.4% Citra pale ale – was born and 5p for every pint raised went to a local grassroots team.
‘Fast forward to June 2023 and we couldn’t let the Women’s World Cup go by without repeating the brew and the fund raising idea. This time we obviously decided to donate the money raised to a local women’s football team. A conversation with Jimmy at The Plough in Easton (friend of the brewery and a very loyal customer to boot) led to the obvious choice for the funds being the Easton Cowgirls – world famous and with a great ethos that we are very happy to be associated with. So in our small and limited way (but to the best of our abilities) we are very proud to support the Easton Cowgirls in football and in everything else they stand for.’
Thanks to everyone at Twisted Oak – a great beer for a great cause. Bottoms up folks!
