The Cricket Cup Team beat UBH in the preliminary round of the KO Shield (what you get into if you have been KOed from the KO Cup). UBH hit 114 from their 2o overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Ev bowled 4-0-9-2 and Roger bowled 4-0-25-4. The Cowboys knocked them off in 17.2 overs with Gary getting 40 in 27 balls and finishing with a huge 6 that left the ground, crossed the road and cleared a fence to end up in a garden.

The Cricket 3rd Team beat Weston 4th Team by 3 wickets. Überpops won the toss and put Weston in to bat on a day where availability had dictated a little less bowling and a little more batting. With Jeff missing this week it was up to Grant to take a stunning catch to dismiss a rather dangerous looking opener and despite dropping more catches in this one match than we have been dropped all season Weston were all out for 164 in 35.3 overs. Ev bowled 6-2-32-3, Stevo bowled 5.3-1-32-3 and Angelo took 3 catches behind the stumps. The 3rd team have not been very good at chasing large scores and so it was a nervous afternoon as both Ev and Justine both narrowly failed to reach 50 (jug avoidance) and Gary was out prematurely when he noticed his lover gazing almost admiringly at him from the boundary. Angelo, still suffering from caipirinha poisoning, rode his luck and was dropped 3 times but also managed to strike a ball so hard that it split open the finger of a player fielding on the boundary. Eventually Angelo was bowled but ultimately their drops were more costly than ours and the Cowboys limped home with 3 wickets to spare in 33 overs. Ev hit 46, Justine hit 43, Angelo hit 32 and Tinx hit just about the most important 4 of his life.

The Cricket 2nd Team (the magnificent 2nds) lost to Windford 2nd Team by 6 wickets. The Cowboys were 133 all out off 33.2 overs. DC I hit 36. Windford knocked off the runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 25.5 overs. Grandpa Kelly bowled 6.5-1-28-3.
